Webster Bank Hires Senior VP of Internet Development

WATERBURY, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 3, 2000--As part of its continuing effort to boost its Internet presence and expand its electronic financial services offerings, Webster Bank announced that Francis P. Duggan has joined the company as senior vice president of Internet Development.

Duggan will be responsible for Webster's Internet development strategy, including the design, implementation and support of online financial products and services.

Prior to joining Webster, Duggan held several positions in the Small Business Division at Fleet Financial Group. Duggan set up Fleet's storefronts@fleet product, which allows small businesses to set up a store and take credit card transactions over the Internet. He also helped implement a PC banking product specifically designed for small businesses. Prior to joining Fleet, Duggan held several senior management positions at Liberty Mutual Insurance and Allmerica Financial.

Duggan holds a bachelor's degree from Harvard University and a master's of business administration from Boston University. He lives in Glastonbury.
