Webster Insurance Promotes William N. Guerrera and Frank N. Pulito

WATERBURY, Conn., June 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Webster Insurance, a subsidiary of Webster Financial Corporation (NYSE: WBS) announced today it has promoted William N. Guerrera to senior vice president, Public Entities Division and Frank N. Pulito to senior vice president, Financial Services.

Guerrera is responsible for property, casualty and risk services, developing customized risk management solutions for public entities and large corporations. Since he joined Webster four years ago, Guerrera has brought in about $1 million in new revenue. He recently received Webster's President's Award for 2004. Before Webster, Guerrera spent more than twenty years with the Litchfield Insurance Group, where he served as a partner.

Guerrera, a graduate of Fairfield University, serves as chairman for the Thomaston Planning and Zoning Commission and is active with the Boy Scouts of America. He resides with his wife and children in Thomaston.

Pulito is responsible for developing employee benefit plans with cost- effective, fully funded and self-funded programs. In 1999, Pulito, who has more than twenty years experience in the field, joined Benefit Plans Design and Administration, Inc., which was acquired by Webster Insurance in 2001.

A cum laude graduate of Providence College, Pulito coaches girl's youth basketball and soccer leagues and is active on his parish council. He resides in Glastonbury with his wife and children.
