WATERBURY, Conn., March 8, 2010 –Webster Bank, the main subsidiary of Webster Financial Corporation (NYSE: WBS), has named James O’Meara senior vice president, commercial banking chief of staff, based in Hartford.
In his new position, O’Meara supports Joseph Savage, Webster’s executive vice president of commercial banking. O’Meara oversees implementation of the group’s strategic initiatives and business plans. O’Meara most recently had a leadership role in Webster’s expansion into Boston in December 2009.
O’Meara joined Webster in 2002 as vice president, marketing commercial banking. Prior to Webster, O’Meara served with Fleet Financial from 1993 to 2002 in a variety of roles,
O’Meara earned a bachelors and an MBA from University of Connecticut.
