New Look for Webster Bank Branches: Evolving to Meet Customers' Needs

Feb 16, 2012

WATERBURY, Conn., February 16, 2011 --- Webster Bank is investing in the most visible and tangible connection to our customers: the bank branch. Webster is pleased to announce eight recent bank branch upgrades, with the two newest unveilings happening this month.

260 Main Street , East Haven , Conn : Webster completely renovated this branch. There is a new addition, allowing for the relocation of a staircase, improving the teller area and opening up the lobby. The 575-square-foot add-on brings the total square-footage to 1,875. The renovations were completed in December but the official re-opening is this month.

1919 Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield , Conn : Webster has long wanted to expand this branch beyond the confines of its 1,500-square-foot facility. So, an addition was built in the rear of the building--- now the branch is 2,290-square-feet. There is also a new drive-up lane and a completely new façade. Service was never interrupted during the six-month renovation that was officially completed at the end of last year but the grand re-opening is this month.

364 Reidville Drive , Waterbury , Conn : Although technically a renovation, almost everything except the foundation of this branch is new. While construction was underway for six months on the 1,500-squre-foot facility, branch operations continued uninterrupted from a temporary banking trailer in the parking lot and at the drive-up ATMs. This branch officially re-opened last month.

149 Grand Army Highway , Somerset , Mass: Traffic patterns were going to change with the replacement of an aging bridge over the Taunton River , so Webster built a new 2,700-square-foot facility two miles away and consolidated the old Somerset and Swansea , Mass. branches to better serve customers. The new location offers teller service as well as drive-up and walk-up ATMs. The branch opened in December of 2011.

Copaco Shopping Center , Bloomfield , Conn : Three branches were consolidated into one more convenient location with all the same friendly faces. The new branch offers expanded services including a drive up teller and ATM and extended banking hours. This branch opened in November of last year.

Scarsdale Train Station, Scarsdale , N.Y. : Although Scarsdale already had a Webster branch, this de novo Scarsdale Annex branch serves commuters. At 550-square-feet, this is the smallest branch but a vital one to Metro North riders. An 18-foot vaulted ceiling provides a spacious feel, and customer service is complete with teller transactions, a walk-up ATM, and a night-drop. The branch opened in September, 2011.

1041 Main Street , Manchester , Conn : Renovations were completed in stages without any disruption to customer service. This 4,800-square-foot branch features a new drive-in teller and a warmer, very welcoming exterior. This branch re-opened last June.

Top of the Hill, 1180 East Main Street , Torrington , Conn : Once again, there were no disruptions to Webster's superior customer during the several stages of renovations. This branch occupies 2,540-square-feet and also features new drive-up service and exterior. This branch also re-opened last June.
