Jun 05, 2012

WATERBURY, Conn., June 5, 2012 --- Webster Bank will relocate its Simsbury branch to 708 Hopmeadow Street from 690 Hopmeadow.  The new location is scheduled to open in mid-November of this year.

“The new branch will feature a state-of-the-art design and a more convenient drive-up teller and ATM,” said Sarah Lindsay, branch manager.  “We look forward to seeing all of our customers and welcoming new ones to the new building.”

In addition to greater convenience for customers, the new branch will be more energy efficient and is expected to earn the U.S. Department of Energy’s “energy star” certification.

As a result of this move, the current location, which is the historic home of Mary and Joseph Ensign, former president of the Ensign Bickford Company, will be offered for sale.  The Ensign home was built between 1905 and 1910.
